Wilson-Short Hall is home to liberal arts programs that focus on the communities, cultures, and conduct that shape our world. This is where the Asia Program and Departments of History, Sociology, Comparative Ethnic Studies, Community and Rural Sociology, American Studies, and Women's Studies are housed.
A number of student services also reside here, including the Chicana/o Latina/o Student Center, Office of the University Ombudsman, Social and Economic Sciences Research Center, and Women's Resource Center.
Next to Wilson-Short Hall is Johnson Tower, where the Departments of Psychology and Political Science and the criminal justice program study social science and human behavior. The Thomas S. Foley Institute for Public Policy and Public Service places students in an impressive array of internships—with local, state, and national government leaders, for instance—so you put your academic experience to work in the real world before you graduate.
